Mccain's shrill and over the top smearing this early has yet to yeild much and may just prove to be an innoculation.  McCain's only memorable messages are why you shouldn't vote for Obama as opposed to why you should vote for John McCain.  

Bob Dole tried that too.  

McCain needs a strategy beyond "surge" "pow" and "Obama Scary" but I don't think he's going to find one.  

That rictus smile of his just aint gonna win anybody over.
